In the late 1950s,a large number of outstanding folk artists and singers emerged across the country.They showcased the music and culture of one place on the national stage,becoming a shining light on the shining stage of the Republic.Farmer singer Jiang Xiuzhen was one of them.This article takes Jiang Xiuzhen as a case study and takes her era as the time background.From three aspects of constructing,transforming,and identifying her identity as a folk singer,it explores the singer's musical expression methods towards her era,the social environ-ment endowed with singer identity by the era,and the influence and practical significance of the era context and singer on the development of folk song culture.
