Research on University Counselors Career Development:Current Situation,Hotspots and Prospects:Based on Bibliometric Analysis of CSSCI Journals from 1999 to 2023
University counselors are the backbone of strengthening the ideals and beliefs of college students and serving their growth and development.Their career development has a significant impact on fostering moral characters and cultivating talents in colle-ges and universities.Taking 506 articles included in the CSSCI database as research samples,this paper uses CiteSpace soft-ware to conduct a visual analysis of the current situation,hotspots and development context of university counselors in China.The study finds that the publication volume of career development of university counselors has a clear policy orientation,and has not yet formed a core author group and cooperative institution group.The existing research mainly focuses on hot topics such as career planning,job burnout,and career identity,and has gone through three research stages of initial start,rapid development and deepening expansion.Future research can focus on exploration in encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation,innovating research methods,and improving counselor career development theories with Chinese characteristics.
