Based on the documents and policies related to ideological and political education in courses issued by China in recent years,this paper analyzes the challenges faced by ideological and political education in environmental art design courses in higher vocational colleges in the new era.Combined with the characteristics of environmental art design major and the requirements of ideological and political education,it clarifies the ideological and political goals of talent cultivation in environmental art design major in higher vocational colleges,as well as the ideological and political element system for professional courses,and proposes specific and feasible strategies for strengthening ideological and political education in professional practice cour-ses and enhancing the ability of professional teachers.
