A comprehensive metrological analysis was conducted on the references found in academic papers published in the journal of Archives Management from 2013 to December 2022.The aim was to examine the patterns of reference types, citations, distribution, and novelty in order to offer valuable insights for archival studies research and journal development.A total of 1650 academic papers and 17,508 references were selected and subjected to statistical analysis within the specified time period. The analysis revealed that journals and books were the primary sources of references, with other types of literature showing lower citation frequencies.Online literature,in particular, had a low citation traceability rate but demonstrated a high, albeit unstable impact. It is crucial for researchers and journals to have a scientific understanding and utilization of references in their work.
