In 1919,the May Fourth Movement quickly spread from Beijing to Jiangsu.People in Jiangsu responded immediately by organizing national congresses,parades,and speeches,as well as launching a comprehensive movement to boycott Japanese goods,especially promote domestic products.During this period,the new cultural trend spread widely in various parts of Jiangsu,and some places began to establish educational institutions and progressive groups,publish cultural periodicals,and free the general public from the shackles of feudalism.A group of intellectuals with communist ideas grew rapidly in the revolutionary practice of the May Fourth Movement and went deep into the working class to promote the widespread dissemination of Marxism and the development of the workers'movement,laying a solid foundation for the early establishment of CPC organizations in Jiangsu.
