Study on Photon Labeling and Distribution Characteristics of ICESat-2 LiDAR Noise
In this paper, PhotonLabeler is used to realize the noise photon labeling research on the spaceborne photon counting data, and the research on the distribution characteristics of noise photons in common scenes is analyzed, and finally a set of photon counting noise labeling products is generated. The results of this study include: solar radiation will cause a lot of noise; noise photons in ocean areas will be affected by factors such as wind and waves, water depth, coastline, and impurities in water; photon distribution in glac-iers is mostly affected by snow thickness, snow density, the thickness of the ice sheet, the density of the ice sheet, and the roughness of the surface of the ice sheet; in winter, the number of noise photons is significantly less than that in summer, and the analysis shows that factors such as canopy height and vegetation coverage will cause a large number of noise photons to appear ; In most cases, the a-bility of weak beams to retrieve the ground surface is lower than that of strong beams, and strong beams can capture more photon point cloud data.
