Research on the Generalization Method of Medium Scale Public Map Basic Database
This paper is aimed at the basic database of 1∶250000 medium scale public maps and the requirements of government maps. On the basis of building the generalization rule base, through defining the generalization and conversion rules of different sur-face feature elements, after selection, generalization and displacement, this paper explores the technical processes and methods of au-tomatic generalization and data update across scale levels using 1∶50000 basic map database, The goal of obtaining medium and small scale maps by generalization and updating medium scale maps is realized. The research results show that the generalization and upda-ting method based on rule base is used to generalize and update from 1∶50000 basic map data to 1∶250000 basic map data. The ac-curacy of the results is reliable, which can fully meet the requirements of rapid updating of medium scale public basic database.
