In order to make the contents of Ningxiatongzhi·Administrative Establishment Volume more vivid , the administrative sche-matic diagram from Qin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, the Period of the Republic of China, the period of the founding of the People's Re-public of China and the period after the establishment of Ningxia is compiled to reflect the changes of Ningxia's administrative estab-lishment in various historical periods through the form of mapping. Based on the existing data, this paper analyzes and designs the contents, structure and compilation characteristic of the atlas, focusing on the compilation of basic geographical base map, thematic map, symbol design, color design and other aspects.
