The use of UAV oblique photogrammetry can obtain accurate real scene 3D models, and achieve virtual setting out of con-struction measurement for designed structures by matching engineering structure design models, feature points and lines to real scene 3D models. This paper introduces the basic principle and application field of virtual setting out method. The virtual construction set-ting out method based on UAV oblique photography converts a large number of complex field survey operations into indoor operations, which can quickly carry out terrain verification before construction and survey verification during construction, improve the detection efficiency of structures, and reduce the safety risk of surveyors in high-altitude detection operations such as bridges and high slopes. It is an effective supplement to the traditional structural inspection, survey and setting out method.
