Taking Nansha district of Guangzhou city as the research area and 2000-2021 as the research period, this research extracts the mangrove range based on the random forest classification method by using the historical remote sensing image data of Landsat,ana-lyzes the temporal and spatial evolution of mangroves in the past 21 years, and evaluates the accuracy of the obtained mangrove range. The research results show that from 2000 to 2021,the overall area of mangroves in Nansha district has increased year by year;Limited by the low resolution of the image and the interference of mixed pixels, the research of the evolution of mangroves, which base on Landsat images, does not perform well in some details, but it can truly reflect the overall evolution of mangroves on a large scale, which has a certain reference value.
