Research on Automatic Extraction of Water System Boundaries Based on LiDAR Intensity Images
This paper conducts in-depth research on the method of automatically extracting water system boundaries based on LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) intensity images, and verifies the unique advantages and high-accuracy performance of this method through practical application in actual experimental areas. The accurate extraction of water system boundaries,as the main feature in the natural geographical environment,is particularly important for water resource management, flood risk assessment, and geographic information system updating. During the experiment,by utilizing the unique characteristics of LiDAR intensity images, the strong ab-sorption of laser pulses leads to non-receiving echo signals in some areas, which serves as the main basis for preliminary identification of water system boundaries. Combined with advanced edge detection algorithms, water system boundaries can be effectively extracted from LiDAR intensity images.
