The selection and organization of elements in atlas design are largely analogous to the editing and composition of film shots. This article aims to enhance the artistic expression of atlases by exploring the application of montage technique,a theory of film shot composition,to map design. Through examples of atlases,it illustrates the use of montage technique in map design.
