With the continuous deepening of provincial-level basic surveying and mapping work in Liaoning province,in order to en-sure the effective management,usage,distribution and service of basic geographic information data,relying on the Liaoning province 1∶10000 scale basic geographic information database upgrading construction project,the provincial-level basic geographic information database management system is designed and developed to meet the actual needs of basic geographic information data storage and man-agement. This paper introduces the upgrading construction goal and design principle of the provincial-level basic geographic informa-tion database and elaborates on the system architecture,technical route,basic platform upgrading and production database construc-tion,etc.
