Analysis of Water Area and Volume Change and Driving Force in Hulun Lake from 1982 to 2020
In this paper, based on the high-resolution remote sensing images of Landsat series from 1982 to 2020,the water area of Hulun Lake was extracted by using the improved normalized differential water index method, and the variation of water volume was es-timated by combining the lake digital elevation model (DEM) and measured elevation data. The results show that from 1982 to 2019,the water area of Hulun Lake changed greatly, and the water area was decreased by 541.35 km2,with a reduction ratio of 23.31%. During the 38 years from 1982 to 2020,the difference of maximum and minimum storage capacity of Hulun Lake is 3 times, and the storage capacity difference is 8.883 billion m3. The main factors affecting the reduction of the area and water volume of Hulun Lake are the rise of temperature and the sharp decrease of rainfall caused by the warming and drying of the climate in the high latitude re-gion,and overgrazing and mineral exploitation also have a certain impact on the reduction of water volume. In recent years, the water area of Hulun Lake has recovered to the multi-year average level. The results of this study can provide reference for the evaluation of the comprehensive regulation effect, the estimation of the water resources of Hulun Lake and the regulation of the amount of artificial diversion water.
