After the CPC Central Committee put forward the concept of"Chinese modernization",research on Chinese modernization has become an academic hot spot in the past two years.The academic circles have carried out in-depth research on relevant issues from different angles and perspectives through different methods,and have achieved fruitful results and laid a solid theoretical foundation.In 2023,Xi Jinping,General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee,at the symposium on cultural inheritance and development linked Chinese modernization with Chinese civilization,further elaborated on the relationship between them,and put forward the cultural missions of continuing to promote cultural prosperity,turn China into a country with a strong socialist culture,and build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation in the new era,to make Chinese modernization and the cultural mission in the new era closely linked together.This has formed the cultural mission of Chinese modernization,expanded the connotation of Chinese modernization,and put forward a new topic for academic research.This paper finds that the connotation of the cultural mission of Chinese modernization is extremely rich,and is deeply related to the Chinese culture,the modern civilization of the Chinese nation and the new form of human civilization.Because of its Chinese-style essence,the mission characteristics of Chinese cultural subjectivity have always been highlighted in the process of carrying out the cultural mission of Chinese modernization.At the same time,the connotation of the cultural mission in the new era has also deeply revealed that the cultural mission goal of Chinese modernization is to build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation.We have continuously promoted coordinated progress in material,political,cultural-ethical,social and ecological terms,we have pioneered a new path of Chinese modernization,and created a new form of human civilization.With the continuous practice of the cultural mission of Chinese modernization,this new form of human civilization is also developing,making Chinese modernization consciously shoulder the historical responsibility of developing the new form of human civilization,and become the cultural mission.This paper expands the previous literature in the following aspects.Firstly,it studies theoretically the essential attributes and characteristics of Chinese modernization and the connotation of the cultural mission in the new era,further grasping the relationship between the two,and deeply understanding the connotation of the cultural mission of Chinese modernization.Secondly,it deconstructs the concept and connotation of Chinese cultural subjectivity,the modern civilization of the Chinese nation and the new form of human civilization,and deeply understands the meaning and essence.Thirdly,it conducts an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the connotation of the cultural mission of Chinese modernization and Chinese cultural subjectivity,the modern civilization of the Chinese nation,as well as the new form of human civilization,and puts forward a logical relationship between the mission and the three ones.Fourthly,on the basis of accurately grasping the logical relationship between the cultural mission and the missions contained in the three ones,this paper further clarifies the relationship between the three ones,and constantly expands the connotation of the cultural mission of Chinese modernization.
