Multi-objective Optimal Scheduling of Pumped Storage Power Stations Considering Capacity and Capacity Reserve
Pumped storage power stations have multiple functions such as peak shaving and valley filling, frequency and phase modulation, and providing backup power in emergency situations, which can ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid. However, there is currently insufficient research on the relationship between the backup function of pumped storage power stations and the benefits of peak shaving and valley filling. In this paper, considering the requirements of unit reserve and storage capacity reserve of pumped storage power plants,a multi-objective day ahead scheduling model of pumped storage power plants is constructed with the objective of maximizing the improvement of power grid load fluctuation and maximizing the operating benefits of pumped storage power plants.Further the model is used to analyze the impact of changing the sizes of reserve power generation capacity and reserve storage capacity on the operating benefits of pumped storage power plants. The example results show that for typical scenario compromise solutions, when one and two units are on standby, the average percentage reduction in electricity benefits is 17.6%and 55.7%,respectively,and the average percentage reduction in fluctuation improvement rate is 27.6%and 51.5%,respectively;When the reserve water level in the upper reservoir is increased by 1m and 2m,the average percentage reduction in electricity benefits is 3.3%and 25.1%,and the average percentage reduction in fluctuation improvement rate is 13.4%and 26.3%,respectively.The research results can be used as a reference for the pumped storage power station to formulate reserve and day ahead scheduling plans.
