Evaluation of Leakage at the Lower Reservoir Dam Site of Shanyang Pumped Storage Power Station
The problem of reservoir leakage not only affects the utilization of water resources,but also threatens the safe operation of reservoirs.The problem of leakage is one of the typical problems in the reservoir engineering.In order to research the leakage of the lower reservoir of Shanyang Pumped Storage Power Station in Shaanxi Province,the regional geological and hydrogeological conditions was firstly studied.Then the geological drilling,water pressure tests and other results were analyzed to obtain the leakage mode.The results show that there is leakage at the dam foundation and the right abutment.The amount of leakage was estimated with the analytical and numerical simulation methods.The evaluated leakage amounts are about 1054m3/d with the analytical methods and 1783m3/d with the numerical simulation method.The amount of leakage accounts for about 0.020%~0.034%of the total storage capacity,which is less than 0.05%of the total storage capacity.The results of this study show that the leakage amount meets the requirements of the reservoir construction specifications.
