Land use and land cover changes in Haihe river basin of China
Land use/land cover changes of space-time pattern in Yaihe River basin was identified to provide some scientific information for reasonable land use. This paper demonstrated the land use changes and the main driving factors in Haihe river uing the MSS image in 1970, the TM image in 1980 and 1990, the ETM image in 2000 and 2006. In order to fully revealed the position and function of different types of land use transfer characteristics in the whole land structure changes, obtained ARCGIS integrating with data, overlay different time land use map, and counted land use change probability matrix from 1970 to 1990 and from 1990 to 2008 in the study area. The results showed that from 1970 to 2008 forestland and cultivated land were major elements in the study area, and orchard, industrial land and housing land increased obviously, while cultivated land and unused land decreased largely. At last analysis were used to study the main driving factors of land cover/use. It was represented from preliminary discussion that land use/land cover changes were affected by natural factors and social economic factors including policy orientation, adjustment of industrial structure, and population growth. Haihe river basin is currently in stage of rapid urbanization, productive land increase rapidly, and cultivated land decrease rapidly, forestry area at various levels have not changed nearly. Ugently administration department should take effective measures to rein in the basin, unreasonable non-agriculturalization of farmland to ensure economic benefit and social benefit and ecological benefits coordinated growth.
