Research advances on MYB transcription factor in rice stress response
Rice(Oryza sativa)is one of the most important food crops in the world. The rice yield and quality were significantly impacted by unfavorable environmental conditions as well as diseases and insect pests.MYB transcription factor is one of the largest transcription factor families and regulates many developmental and metabolic processes, hormone signaling as well as defense responses to various biotic and abiotic stresses in plants. The present study provided a comprehensive review of the roles and regulatory mechanisms of MYB family transcription factors on biotic and abiotic stress responses of rice. The review might provide insights for the breeding of rice varieties with enhanced stress resistance.
