Effects of rice-turtle culture symbiosis system on community structure of phytoplankton in Hefei area of Anhui Province
In order to explore the effects of rice-fishery integrative farming mode on the phytoplankton community in paddy field, the phytoplankton in rice-turtle culture symbiosis group (RT group) and conventional rice-monoculture group (CM group) were investigated to comprehensively analyze the alterations of phytoplankton community structure and its influencing factors under rice-turtle culture symbiosis and conventional rice monoculture. The results showed that in RT group, the phytoplankton communities were composed of 68 species that belonged to 45 genera, six phylum and dominant species were composed of Chlorophyta and Euglenophyta mainly. The phytoplankton cell abundance and biomass in RT group were lower than those in CM group, and the alpha diversity indices in RT group were higher than those in CM group significantly (P<0.05). The analysis of indicator species showed that the indicator species in RT group were often occurred in eutrophic shallow waters, indicating that the concentration of nutrient matter was higher, and these maybe dosely related to the breeding behavior of rice-turtle co-culture in paddy field. The redundancy analysis showed that water temperature and nitrite were the impact factors on the phytoplankton community structure in rice-turtle integrated mode paddy fields at booting stage, and pH was the key factor of phytoplankton community structure at maturing stage. The results revealed preliminarily the phytoplankton community structure characteristics and its influencing factors in the rice-turtle culture symbiosis system, and suggested that the rice-turtle culture symbiosis mode could improve phytoplankton community structure and water quality in paddy water.
