The effect of elemental priming on the germination of membranous Astragalus membranaceus seeds under Na2CO3 stress
To investigate the effects of element induced stress on the growth of Astragalus membranaceus seeds and seedlings under Na2CO3 stress,Astragalus membranaceus seeds were taken as the research object, and a Na2CO3 solution with a concentration of 2×10-2 mol/L was used to provide a stress environment.Four elements,B,Si,Fe,and Zn,were used to treat the seeds under stress. The germination indicators, biomass, chlorophyll content, osmoregulatory substance content, and antioxidant enzyme activity of the seeds were measured, providing theoretical reference for the future cultivation and production of Astragalus membranaceus in saline alkali soil. The results showed that 3 × 10-5mol/L of B element,6.5 × 10-5 mol/L of Si element,1.8 × 10-4 mol/L of Fe element, and 1.2×10-4mol/L of Zn element significantly promoted the growth and development of seeds and seedlings, alleviated the stress of Na2CO3 on plants, increased seed germination rate, increased biomass accumulation of seedlings, enhanced photosynthesis of seedlings, and improved antioxidant capacity of seedlings. When the priming concentration is low,the promotion effect on the growth of seeds and seedlings is not significant, while when the priming concentration is high,it will inhibit the growth of seeds and seedlings.
