Analysis of cross-section design for irrigation channels considering frost heave resistance
Frost heave failure is one of the problems that should be paid special attention in the design of anti-seepage channels in cold areas. This paper takes the canal in Guertu Irrigation District of Wusu City as the research object.According to different canal lining materials, the optimal economic section and the optimal hydraulic section are selected, and the cross section size and roughness of the canal are determined according to the actual situation of the project area. The frost heave resistance design was carried out for the frost heave soil section, and the frost heave depth, surface frost heave amount and displacement depth were calculated. And according to the replacement material source, construction technology, scope of application,anti-frost heave effect, cost and other aspects of the comparison. It is recommended to use sand gravel with good quality, good durability and low engineering cost as antifreeze replacement material, and its results can provide reference for similar projects.
