Termite control is an important part of the maintenance of earth-rock dams. There are numer-ous small reservoirs in Huaxi District and Guian New Area of Guiyang City,most dams are earth-rock dams built in the 1950s and 1960s. In 2023,Huaxi District implemented the small reservoir mainte-nance project and completed termite control for 10 earth-rock dams. Through termite inspection and judgment,the level of termite damage was mild (level Ⅰ) to moderate (level Ⅱ). By formulating preven-tion plan,adopting comprehensive control measures,implementing environmental and water conserva-tion requirements,strengthening construction supervision,a good foundation was laid for the safety oper-ation of reservoirs. Taking this project as an example,the construction process was introduced and sum-marized,and the qualification conditions,quality evaluation and construction supervision of construc-tion units were explored. It can provide reference for the future termite control construction of similar reservoirs in Guizhou Province and the formulation and improvement of local standard systems.
