Effect of dispersants on the stability of graphite-water suspension system
In order to improve the dispersion effect and suspension stability of graphite powder in water, the effect of anionic dispersant, polymer dispersant and cationic dispersant alone and in combination on dispersion stability of graphite-water suspension system is studied. The polymer dispersants have a good effect on the graphite-water system, the wetting effect of nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether(NP)is better and the contact angle is reduced by about 50.3° compared with the original graphite. The dispersion stability of modified acrylic acid(MAC)is the best. The particle size of graphite is reduced to 12.2 μm and the absorbance of the system is 2.958 after standing for 48 h.The dispersion stability of MAC/NP and sodium alcohol ether sulphate(AES)/polyethylene glycol(PEG)composite dispersants is better than that of single dispersant system, the particle size of graphite can reduce to 10.5 μm and 10.3 μm,respectively, the absorbance remains unchanged after 7 d.
