Review on standardization of low-temperature testing for automotive power Li-ion battery
Low-temperature performance of battery is directly related to the use and promotion of pure electric vehicles in cold areas, establishment of low-temperature performance testing criteria appears to be particularly important. The relevant cases of low-temperature performance testing standard for electric vehicles for domestic and foreign power Li-ion battery are introduced. The content, applicability and stringency of the testing standard are analyzed and compared. The advantages and deficiencies of existing standards are explored, existing standards already have specific standards for battery cells, modules, battery packs,and/or battery systems, but there is no universal standard yet.Domestic and foreign standards have their own emphasis, there is still a lack of testing standards that can comprehensively reflect the low-temperature performance of batteries. The different low-temperature testing conditions at home and abroad make it difficult to compare the test results. It is proposed to synthesize low-temperature performance detection methods in various existing standards to form a national standard that can fully embody the low-temperature performance of power Li-ion battery for electric vehicles,so as to accommodate the need for power Li-ion battery technology development and the promotion of applications in cold areas for pure electric vehicles.
