Research on cobalt free cathode materials for lithium ion batteries
In recent decades,lithium-ion batteries have dominated the energy storage market for portable electronics and electric vehicles,among others,because of their high energy density.However,leading battery manufacturers are trying to reduce manufacturing costs by reducing their reliance on cobalt in cathode materials.By reviewing the background,current development status,and challenges faced by several new cobalt-free anodes,this paper discusses several aspects that need to be considered for the development of cobalt-free anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.Finally,the research direction of cobalt-free anode for lithium-ion batteries is envisioned from a practical point of view.
