Research advances on saggers for sintering cathode materials of lithium-ion battery
The rapid development of lithium-ion battery(LB)industry has put forward higher requirements for the comprehensive performance and economic benefits of the saggars used for sintering cathode materials.In this paper,the composition and manufacturing process of graphite saggars and alumina-silica-magnesia(ASM)saggars widely used in the production of cathode materials for LBs are introduced,with emphasis on the main crystal phases in ASM saggars and the properties of various phases.Considering practical application scenarios,the performance requirements,corrosion mechanisms,and economic benefits of the saggars are elaborated in this paper.The research advances on enhancing the performance of saggars are reviewed,and the outlook was carried out in the research prospects of preparing saggar materials and modifying saggar manufacturing process.
