BOTTLENECKS HINDERED THE LONG TERM OPERATION OF WASTE HEAT BOILER AND ITS TECHNICAL REFORMATION
Failures occurred during the long term operation of the first waste heat boiler in synthetic ammonia plant were analyzed, such as external tube rupture, corrosion leakage, and weld seam leakage on tube plate. Some treatment measures were taken to eliminate these bottlenecks, e.g. updating the material of baffle plate, changing the connection mode of external tube and tube plate to reinforced welding and reinforced expanding, changing the connection mode of internal tube and tube joint to reinforced welding and reinforced expanding, changing the installation of spacing nail, manufacture quality control, water quality control and process optimization. All these measures achieved the four-year long term operation of the plant.
