Spatiotemporal Evolution of High-quality Coupling Coordination Development between Digital Economy and Insurance Industry
Using data from 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China from 2013 to 2022,this paper used the entropy weight-TOPSIS method and coupling coordination degree model to explore the coordination degree between the rapid momentum of digital economy and the high-quality development of insurance industry aimd transformation. The Dagum Gini coefficient method was then used to reveal the sources of spatial disparities in coupling coordination. Finally, the kernel density estimation was used to reveal the dynamic evolution of their coupling and coordination development. The results indicate that the level of high-quality coupling and coordination between digital economy and insurance industry in China is low and stagnant, with a clear"high in the east and low in the west"pattern.Provinces and cities at the primary coordination level have a driving effect on neighboring regions, those in the eastern region are grouped together. However, there remains a large gap between them, with no signs of improvement.Therefore,later-developing provinces and cities should increase financial investment and policy support for the foundational industries of digital economy,to enable the local insurance industry to actively adopt digital technologies and achieve high-quality coupling and coordinated development with the digital economy.
