Numerical Simulation Analysis on Influence of Inlet and Outlet Flow-passage on Performance of Axial Flow Pump
The coolant flow pattern is an important factor affecting the performance of the nuclear coolant pump. The structure of inlet and outlet flow channel affects the inlet and outlet flow pattern. In order to explore the influence of different inlet and outlet channel structures on the hydraulic performance of the pump, the inlet and outlet water structure of the volute type axial flow pump was studied under the condition that the impeller and guide vane were unchanged.Based on the SST κ-ωturbulence model and SIMPLEC algorithm, the grid convergence analysis and steady-state numerical calculation of axial flow pumps with different inlet bend, volute and outlet straight pipe are carried out.The simulation uses three commonly used commercial computational fluid dynamics software. The calculation shows that the external characteristic parameters of the two models are consistent, the flow characteristic curves almost coincide, and the flow state in and out of the axial flow pump is similar. The curve obtained by different commercial fluid mechanics calculation software is consistent with the trend of the cloud map,and the difference between the values is less than 5%,which proves that the different inlet and outlet structures and flow channels in this study have no obvious influence on the hydraulic performance of the pump.
