Optimization of Wind Turbine Power Control based on TOP Strategy Frequency Modulation
When the system frequency changes, the doubly-fed induction generator has the problems that the rotor speed cannot respond to the grid frequency and there is no excess active power to support the frequency change. In this paper,a TOP(Temporary Over-Production)strategy based on rotor kinetic energy control is proposed for the primary frequency regulation of doubly-fed induction generator and the principle scheme for the participation of doubly-fed induction generator in the primary frequency regulation of the system is given according to the basic requirements of the primary frequency regulation of the power system. The simulation results show that the effectiveness of the TOP strategy is verified by comparing the frequency, speed and induction generator output power before and after the additional strategy, and by analyzing the three parameters of the additional power value, the duration of the support and the acceleration power in the rotor recovery phase during the power control process.
