Research on Optimization Design of Vortex Suppression Device in an Axial Flow Pump Sump
Based on the dynamic characteristics of vortices,a vortex shedding guide wheel with vortex shedding blades was designed.The vortex shedding blades and guide wheels adopt a streamline structure,and three schemes with vortex shedding blades of 4,6 and 8 were designed.The influence of the number of vortex shedding blades on the vortex shedding effect and pump performance was studied.The research results indicate that velocity gradient is a key factor in the generation of vortices,and the difference in velocity gradient leads to the generation of vortices.To eliminate vortices,it is necessary to reduce the difference in velocity gradient distribution and ensure uniform flow distribution.The number of anti-vortex blades affects the anti-vortex effect and water pump performance.When the number of anti-vortex blades is 4,there are local small-scale vortices near the guide wheel.When the number of anti-vortex blades is 8,significant local hydraulic losses occur near the guide wheel.When the number of anti-vortex blades is 6,the anti-vortex effect is the best,the local hydraulic loss generated near the anti-vortex guide wheel is the smallest,and the efficiency of the pump device is improved by 1.0~1.3 percentage points.If the number of vortex shedding blades is too small,the vortex shedding is not thorough.If the number of vortex shedding blades is too large,it will reduce the flow rate and increase additional losses.
