Pipeline Vibration Analysis of Synchronous Condenser Auxiliary System
In this paper,a finite element model of the pipeline support and hanger system was developed for the operational pipeline of the synchronous condenser in the UHV converter station. The model simulated and calculated the inherent frequency and vibration mode of pipelines with varying diameters, wall thicknesses and support and hanger arrangements.Field vibration tests were conducted to determine the excitation frequency and peak vibration of the pipelines. The findings demonstrate that pipelines with inherent frequencies avoiding the rotor frequency of the converter station operate smoothly with lower vibration levels. However, pipelines with inherent frequencies close to the synchronous condenser rotor frequency has experienced resonance, leading to vibration amplitudes that significantly exceed standard regulations and pose substantial safety risks. As a solution,it is suggested to adjust the stiffness and damping of the pipeline to modify its natural frequency and eliminate vibration in the pipeline system.
