Comparison and Research of the Output Power Smoothing Control Strategy for Wind Power Generation Systems based on DC Voltage
The output power of wind power system fluctuates randomly due to the intermittency and randomness of wind speed, thus affecting power quality and stable operation of the power grid.Direct power control methods relying on the smoothing ability of the wind turbine itself without energy storage device have been widely studied and the voltage control based on the DC side capacitance of the wind power converter is one of them.Firstly,in this paper, advantages and disadvantages of two DC bus voltage control methods proposed by now are summarized, and a new effective power smoothing strategy based on interval voltage control is proposed. Then, the low-pass filter is used to get the reference value of the smoothing power, and the maximum value of time constant is analyzed and studied based on the range of DC bus voltage being determined. Finally, the proposed control strategy is compared with the previous control methods, and the results show that the proposed control strategy has better ability of tracing smoothing instruction and start-up ability of the wind turbine.
