Effect of electroplating coating on adhesion and peeling property of steel cord
In order to study the effect of electroplating steel wire coating on the adhesion and peeling property of steel cord, the electroplating brass steel wire of 1.72 mm diameter was produced with different coating weight, copper content of coating and copper content of coating surface. The 2×0.30 HT steel cord was drawn and twisted with the same technology to test the adhesion and peeling property of steel cord and rubber. The study found that when the coating weight of steel cord was in 2.47‒4.34 g∙kg-1,the copper content of the coating was in 61.30%‒66.36%,and the adhesion strength and adhesion effect of steel cord and rubber were well established. It also meant that the steel cord and rubber had better bonding and peeling property under these conditions. The adhesion and peeling property of steel cord and rubber was good when the copper content of steel wire coating surface was in 57.82%‒62.22%,indicating that the change of copper content of steel wire coating surface had no obvious or adverse effect on the adhesion and peeling property of steel cord.At the same time, when the copper percentage content or surface copper content was lower, the steel wire drawing loss increased, which was not conducive to steel wire drawing.
