Effect of thermal shock on microstructure and properties of silver coated composites
Silver coating was prepared on the surface of aluminum alloy by electroplating.Thermal shock test was carried out on the silver coating composite material. The effect of thermal shock test on the morphology and mechanical properties of the materials was studied by metallographic microscope and microhardness tester. The results show that the hardness of aluminum substrate and silver coating has no obvious change compared with that of non-thermal shock test after 30min.The hardness of aluminum substrate and silver coating decreases significantly with the extension of thermal shock time. The hardness of air-cooled silver coating after heating is slightly higher than that of water-cooled silver coating. At the same time, the matrix grains were refined after 190℃and 30 min of thermal shock test, while the grains showed a tendency to grow after 190℃and 2 h of thermal shock test.
