Effect of heat treatment on the coating properties of electrodeposited Ni-Co-P alloy
Heat treatment is a common method to improve the properties of coating. In this paper,a new Ni-Co-P electroplating formula was used to prepare the coating on the brass plate, and then the obtained coatings were heat treated at different temperatures. The surface morphology, microstructure, hardness and corrosion resistance of the coating were tested and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction, vickers hardness tester and electrochemical workstation. The results show that the coating is gradually transformed from amorphous to crystalline by heat treatment. When the heat treatment temperature is 400℃,the surface of the coating is flat, compact and without obvious defects. The hardness of the coating increases from 475.4 HV to 662.5 HV,and the corrosion potential is-0.222 V,the corrosion current density is 2.44×10-8 A·cm-2 and the coating performance is the best.
