Anti-wear performance of different Co-based coatings electrodeposited on Cr12MoV die steel
Co-W alloy coating,Co-W/ZrO2 composite coating,Co-W/MoS2 composite coating and Co-W/ZrO2+MoS2 composite coating were prepared on the surface of Cr12MoV die steel by electrodeposition in order to effectively improve the anti-wear performance of Cr12MoV die steel. The morphology characteristics, composition and phase structure of different Co-based coatings were analyzed, and the thickness, hardness and anti-wear performance of different Co-based coatings were tested. The results show that the morphology characteristics of Co-W alloy coating,Co-W/ZrO2 composite coating,Co-W/MoS2 composite coating and Co-W/ZrO2+MoS2 composite coating are different, the average grain size decreases sequentially, the hardness increases sequentially and the anti-wear performance improves sequentially. However, the thickness of different Co-based coatings is similar, and all show the Co3W(200)crystal face preferred orientation.ZrO2 particles and MoS2 particles participate in electrodeposition can significantly refine grains, and may also cause lattice distortion, and promote the formation of dense Co-W/ZrO2+MoS2 composite coating with fine grains(average grain size is 54.2 nm),high hardness(543.2 HV)and stronger resistance to plastic deformation and scratch damage. The anti-wear performance of Co-W/ZrO2+MoS2 composite coating is obviously better than that of Co-W alloy coating,Co-W/ZrO2 composite coating and Co-W/MoS2 composite coating.Co-W/ZrO2+MoS2 composite coating can be used as a functional coating, which can effectively reduce the surface wear of Cr12MoV die steel.
