Cytological Observation on Infection Process of Hypocotyls of Wild Soybeans by Zoospore of Phytophthora sojae
The compatible and incompatible interactions between susceptible and resistant wild soybeans with zoospores of Phytophthora sojae race 1,the predominant race in Heilongjiang province at present were examined by electronmicroscopy, after inoculation from 1.5 to 24 h.The agerminating cysts were formed on hypocotyls of susceptible wild soybean at 1.5 h after inoculation, and appressoria began to penetrate into epidermis at 3 h,then totally into epidermis at 12 h.The appressoria membrane infected into epidermis at 24 h after inoculation. The infection process in incompatible interactions was similar to that in compatible interaction. However, the process of incompatible interactions was relatively late compared to that of compatible interaction.
