Research on the Media Images of Chinese Women's Volleyball Players——An Example of the Coverage of New Sports from 2013 to 2022
Using literature,content analysis,text analysis and other research methods,this paper analyzes the number,length,theme and tendency of the reports of New Sports from 2013 to 2022,and finds that New Sports attached great importance to the coverage of women's volleyball players,with reports mainly focusing on long reports,supplemented by short reports,themes focusing on the on-court performance of women's volleyball players and more positive reports,and that it presented the collective and individual images of women's volleyball players with relatively objective and impartial perspectives.In order to further optimize the shaping of the media images of female athletes,sports journalism should continue to cultivate professionals in related fields,improve the gender awareness and sensitivity of the editorial staff,draw on Portrayal Guidelines from the International Olympic Committee to formulate portrayal guidelines in line with national conditions,actively assume social responsibilities and do a good job in guiding public opinions.
