This paper discusses the importance of the combination of physical education and ideological and political education and its role in promoting the all-round development of students. The paper first expounds the important role of physical education in cultivating students' physical quality and teamwork ability, and then analyzes the necessity of ideological and political education in shaping students' values and morality. Through case studies and theoretical analysis, this paper shows how to integrate ideological and political elements into the physical education curriculum, such as cultivating collectivism spirit through team sports, and reflecting core socialist values through sports activities. In addition, the article also discusses the positive impact of this integrated teaching model on improving students' sense of social responsibility and national identity. The research of this paper shows that combining physical education and ideological and political education can not only improve students' physical quality, but also play an important role in moral education, so as to promote students' all-round development.
