Cultural Metaphors of "Warding Off, Rolling Back, Pressing and Pushing" in Taijiquan
By using the literature method and other research methods, this paper combs and analyzes the requirements and discussions of practicing Taijiquan, and analyzes its external technical characteristics and internal cultural metaphors in combination with the author's own understanding of Taijiquan. This paper argues that "warding off, rolling back, pressing and pushing" are the basis of Taijiquan techniques, which contain the foundation of "the square as the main body and the circle for use", imply the harmonious method of "taking the form as the foundation and disciplining the body with the mind", and pursue the inaction realm of "driving the external with the internal and integrating one". Finally, this paper points out that Taijiquan should not only return technically, but also pursue cultural inheritance, and that it is necessary to find back the metaphoric cultural connotation of "warding off, rolling back, pressing and pushing".
