This paper explores the practical model and optimization path of the integration of sports and tourism empowering rural revitalization through field investigation, literature and case analysis methods. Through case analysis, it is concluded that there are four sports-tourism integration modes in China: sports leisure, fitness recuperation, sports events and folk experiences. The value implications of the integration of sports and tourism empowering rural revitalization: a green path for comprehensive rural development, an important driving force for promoting the improvement of rural governance models and the construction of beautiful rural areas, and a path for the promotion and inheritance of rural culture. Optimization paths: change traditional cognition to renew concepts; cultivate cultural heritage to strengthen characteristics; pay attention to environmental governance and travel in a low-carbon manner; strengthen backup guarantees and provide support from multiple parties.
