With the continuous promotion of quality education and new curriculum reform, public security colleges have also shifted from the traditional goals of professional education and cultural education to fosterting virtue through education and cultivating comprehensive talents. The police physical education course is a fundation course in public security colleges, and it aims at training and enhancing students' combat abilities, cultivating their strong willpower and sound personality, enabling them to feel the power of a team, and forming the spirit of teamwork and never giving up, so as to lay the foundation for their professional learning and career development. Therefore, colleges should create the environment for ideological and political education in police physical education courses, and teachers should clarify the teaching objectives of ideological and political education in courses, create school-based courses, innovate education and training models, and reflect the value of ideological and political education in courses in education and teaching. This article will analyze the significance of ideological and political education in police physical education courses in public security colleges from the perspective of the curriculum on the ideological and political dimension, and propose strategies for the curriculum on the ideological and political dimension, for reference.
