This paper aims to explore the effect of group sports games on the emotion regulation ability of children in the senior grade of kindergartens. The experimental method was used to divide 60 children in the senior grade of the kindergarten (two natural classes) in Rizhao Gaoke Lantian Kindergarten into the experimental class and the control class, with 30 children in each class. The content of the sports game class in the experimental class is the group sports game, and the control class keeps original curricula unchanged. The experiment lasts for 6 weeks with interventions three times a week for 40 minutes each time. The test index is the revised Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC). The research shows that group sports games can improve the emotion regulation ability of children in the senior grade of the kindergarten in this experiment, the score of the emotion regulation dimension of children in the senior grade of the kindergarten in the experimental group is increased, and that the score of the instable and negative dimension is decreased. Group sports games can be used as effective intervention measures to improve the emotion regulation ability of children in the senior grade of kindergartens.
