Past,Present and Future of Physical Literacy Research
Physical literacy has become a new idea for the world to deal with the health crisis caused by the sedentary lifestyle and solve the problem of sports reform and development,which has been widely concerned by various research fields.Based on the review of relevant literature at home and abroad,this paper reviews the past and present of physical literacy research and speculates on future research direction,which provides help for scientific researchers to understand the overall picture of physical literacy research and theoretical reference for practitioners to promote physical activities and sports reform.This paper traces the process of physical literacy research and predicts its future development,which can be roughly divided into four periods and three stages,lasting more than 140 years from the first appearance of the term to the definition of the concept connotation,to the demonstration of the relationship between it and physical education,and to the assessment of various groups of people,and existing research results have laid a solid foundation for future research.In the future,more theoretical and empirical research is needed for various groups of people to develop local assessment tools,explore physical literacy promotion models and demonstrate the relationship between physical literacy and healthy outcomes,which will contribute to realizing the goal of improving physical literacy during building China into a leading sporting nation.
