Through a review of domestic and international literature over the past decade regarding post-activation potentiation (PAP),this paper explores the physiological mechanisms and influencing factors of PAP,reaching the following conclusions:PAP is derived from the phosphorylation of myosin light chains, increased recruitment of motor units, and changes in the angle of muscle fiber pennation. Both individual athlete factors and training factors can affect the duration of PAP. Recommendations include:1) Athletes should choose training movements that are relevant to their specific sports;2) Different training induction methods should be tailored according to the training years and experience of the athletes;3) The relationship between PAP and fatigue should be managed.
