Association Between Sports Induced Concussion and Neurodegenerative Diseases
Concussion not only affects brain function during the acute phase, and repetitive concussions can lead to long-term neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's,Parkinson's,and chronic traumatic encephalopathy(CTE).This study systematically analyzes the pathological mechanism of concussion, including mechanical damage, metabolic dysfunction,blood-brain barrier disruption, and neuroinflammation, and explores their associations with neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, epidemiological studies reveal high risks of these diseases in professional athletes, highlighting the cumulative effects of concussions and its impact on long-term health. The research result are of great significance for developing effective prevention and intervention measures.
