This article analyzes the competency requirements for physical education teachers in higher vocational colleges in the new era,and proposes that the improvement of teachers'political quality and professional ethics is the foundation for the development of teachers'core abilities.The development and deepening of sports technology theory and related knowledge is the most basic ability.Physical education and physical training practical abilities are key abilities.By analyzing the current practical problems faced by physical education teachers,it proposes a path to improve core competencies,that is,firmly uphold the professional ideals and beliefs of Lide Shuren and physical education,integrate personal development into school development,strengthen scientific research and training,and strengthening social practice.
