Comparison and Analysis of the Badminton 11-Point Scoring System and the 21-Point Scoring System
As a sport with a long history, the changes of badminton in its scoring system have significantly affected competition strategy, athlete performance, and spectator experience.Through methods of Literature Review and Statistical Analysis,a detailed comparison was conducted between the characteristics of competitions, athlete per-formance,and competition duration under two different scoring systems. The results of the study indicate that the 11-point scoring system competition has a faster pace with higher unpredictability. This not only effectively controls competition duration but also helps reduce the risk of athlete injuries while increasing the intensity and viewing value of the competition, meeting the modern audience's demand for fast-paced and high suspense competitions. These changes are crucial for adapting to demands of modern sports and entertainment, thus help enhance Badminton's competitiveness and influence as a global competitive sport.
